This artwork shows positive and negative space with the leaves being positive and the space around them the negative space.


In this advertisement the leaves (positive space) stand a great deal more than if the area around then was not blank negative space. Otherwise they would be lost in the background because of the similar tones in the foreground. It also creates a sense of balance with the blank space around the tree.

At the time the PlayStation 4 was being released in the UK. The graphic design image uses the same colors as the neon lights in the photograph to the lower left and appears on a silhouette of the Liebig Company tower.

Rhythm CA Illustration Annual 57, May/June 2016, page 7 This image shows rhythm though color and shape.    This image shows rhythm through the color of the landscape and the leaves. Rhythm is also shown in the shape of the leaves that is consistent throughout the whole composition. There is also a rhythm in the shape of the men in the image, they are both of similar body type.
