Showing asymmetrical balance through the large rectangle and the bold circle.
   This image creates asymmetrical balance by having a large rectangle that takes up a large amount of the advertisement which is then balanced through the two circles in the vertical axis of the image. By placing these circles with the smaller shape closer to the rectangle and the bold edged shape farther it creates a balance. Also, having the highest circle be bold and the rectangle narrow-lined there is a large sense of balance there.

Creativity Communication Arts Illustration Annual 2014 pg. 72  Inspiration is the beset creativity.                                    This piece of graphic design was used as a title in a piece about how the Liebig Extract of Meat Company changed their sign reading "oxo" for their oxo Beef Stock Cubes to read the controls for the Playstation gaming system. At the time the PlayStation 4 was being released in the UK. The graphic design image uses the same colors as the neon lights in the photograph to the lower left and appears on a silhouette of the Liebig Company tower.

Rhythm CA Illustration Annual 57, May/June 2016, page 7 This image shows rhythm though color and shape.    This image shows rhythm through the color of the landscape and the leaves. Rhythm is also shown in the shape of the leaves that is consistent throughout the whole composition. There is also a rhythm in the shape of the men in the image, they are both of similar body type.

HW8-Positive and Negative

Positive and Negative GD USA October 2016 Pg. 58 This artwork shows positive and negative space with the leaves being positive and the space around them the negative space. In this advertisement the leaves (positive space) stand a great deal more than if the area around then was not blank negative space. Otherwise they would be lost in the background because of the similar tones in the foreground. It also creates a sense of balance with the blank space around the tree.
